Councilwoman Althea Graves represents Ward 12 which includes the neighborhoods of Smith Hill, portions of Valley, and Capital Center. She is a member of the Committee on City Property, the Committee on Finance, the Committee on Urban Redevelopment, Renewal, and Planning, the Housing Crisis Task Force, and the Committee on State Legislative Affairs.
Graves is a retired educator, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She began her work as a community activist in Providence in the early 1970s.
