Councilwoman Ana Vargas

An immigrant from the Dominican Republic, Ana Vargas arrived in the United States in the 1990s in search of the American dream. Since then, Vargas has raised seven children and acted as a community advocate. For the past seven years, Vargas has worked for the Providence School Department. She looks forward to continuing her work helping others achieve the American dream and serving as a voice for her community.
