The City Clerk issues State of Rhode Island Hunting and Fishing licenses. All license applications must be made in person at the office of the City Clerk, 3rd Floor, Providence City Hall.
Below is a listing of the different types of fishing and hunting licenses issued and documents required at the time you apply.

REQUIREMENTS & RESTRICTIONS
To qualify for a resident license (hunting or fishing) you must have been a resident of Rhode Island for the past 6 months.
To qualify for a fishing license you must present a photo I.D. at the time of applying
To qualify for a hunting license you must present a photo I.D. AND one of the following:
- A prior year Rhode Island hunting license
- A hunting certificate
If you have not been a resident of Rhode Island for the past 6 months must apply for a non-resident license.
